 Weber county should be as responsive to the county as its families are. We’ve all felt the punch of inflation and high prices. Just as Weber county has families who trim their budget when prices rise, Weber county’s government needs to do the same. Too many of my opponents support tax increases without restraint. Weber’s taxes are too high. Rich believes Weber County should lead by example... tightening the county budget, strengthening partnerships with neighboring cities, and being responsible stewards of taxpayer dollars.  

Rich Hyer is willing to demonstrate his commitment by cutting his own salary by 20% starting day 1. Mr. Hyer is focusing on principled, effective leadership whilst urging other commissioners to follow by his example. A job is only worth so much money. After decades in the private sector, Rich knows success comes from discipline, accountability, and living within your means. Our government must learn to live by the same principle. “If the taxpayer’s have to tighten their budget, we should do the same!”

Ensuring Weber County stands by correct principles influences cities to do the same. Rich believes Weber County should lead on regional issues through cooperation, not competition. With Mr. Hyer’s decades of experience serving Weber County, he’s already shown that he is more than capable of making Weber the role model county we strive to be.  Rich is ready to make Weber County a model of good government built on trust, teamwork, and results.
